L'Annunziata in Ravello

The "facile" rapidity that lends charm to Luca Albino's numerous landscapes of the Amalfi Coast should not be misleading. Moving from typical late 19th-century compositions—influenced by the teachings of Vincenzo Migliaro, as seen in his Church Interiors or the glowing views of the streets of Ravello (entry 11)—Luca Albino’s painting reached, by the late 1930s, an expansion of form also found in the works From Ravello (entry 15) and Ravello (entry 20). This evolution reveals a modern sensitivity in his depiction of the landscape, where the brushwork becomes more liberated and vibrant.
